Okay. Seems this is where CCP is listening at all.
I noticed Manifest saying he's reading all the post and the reasons for doing so.
Manifest or whom ever picks up, I know he needs sleep at some point.
I don't post here often, heck I rarely read a thread. And this update made me actually post.
I'll tell you the tale of how and why I started eve, and why I'm here in the first place, then you can bring that forth. And I'm sure I'm only a representive.
From the 21th century I've been hard pressed to complete all the games in my seach for THE game. At some point I ended up with MMO's in general and I found Nwn to be relatively (play this the way you choose to) rather then following a game designer set course. Level 40 just didn't cut it.
Weel some of my friends were highly commenting WoW which had been released some year in advance (we're only looking at RPG's) and I was very opposed to the concept of paying a monthly fee to play a game. Well I got an account and I kinda liked it. It was better then Nwn, but the people were hmmm, 13 year olds with way too much spare time...
At a class some old vet guy was heavyly promoting Eve as a great game worth everybodies time, and he frequently used a class PC for changing skills, this was before skill ques. in the end he gave me a buddy sign up trial.
I created as usual my standard base sci-fi character and set out to play eve. I quicly realized there was isk in mining, so I started doing regular mining to raise the cash.
In a belt I was contacted and recruited and our founder sold his corp concepts to me and it pleased my core being and I started working my skills into this concept, slowly I made my famous 18 years and still going skill que, and I've kept on that ever since. If I don't finish that que, I'll lost the MMO games.
In eve I have full customization of my game experience, the game is handled and depends entirely on players and their actions. I love the fact that NPC's are not the ones selling you stuff. This is why I've stil here and will remain so for the hmmm, 18 years I guess.
Few people around me understands why I spend 3/[the cost of my car] monthly on this. I don't care, course I do.
I can't effort more. If I could I would. As mentioned in an earlier thread I'm realizing I need to include gaming rigs to these expenses, course you'll be upgrading faster then I can do my excell sheets.
I actually play the game mostly based on text, as my view point is the size of my capacitor, the rest are marked windows, chat channels ect ect. Spread sheets, stats, forums you name it. the game it pretty, but I can't see that for all the info I "need". I like info, and will always seek more.
The casual login has been killed with Shader 3.0 requirement, I knew it would be coming, and I made it through with my current equipment untill next update atleast. (I need to plan a regular rig upgrade plan, please help me here CCP, wrote previuos post on this, and I still read eve-mail).
I've kept pushing people into eve, but I don't do so blindly. Eve is not a game for everybody, and it's a love/hate game, you either love it or hate it. 3rd option = you don't understand it.
My current fears and the reasons I even react is that as people keep saying here. You've beginning to mis-inform more and more. I've noticed this over the past year or 2, and I don't like it. I keep hoping you'll eventually realize the wrongdoing, many people here knows what I mean, and if you can't find those you have a serious problem and Eve has already died.
Current buisness plans would push eve into basicly SP for $.
4 years ago you knew why that could never happen. It's an ideal, when you compromise your ideal, you become something else. Do you think my 18 year skill que has a place in something else? That is why I'm here, I started a project. I'll finish it or fail it. some 18 years from now I'll know which way it went.... Help me with this, please. I'll prob have a new project by then, but we'll look at that then
